In an exciting new development, a number of Ireland’s leading public policy advisors have come together to provide services across a range of areas of topical interest. In what will be the first such initiative in the country the network will provide a full service on policy matters to the existing and future clients of their respective consultancies. The network has also launched a web-site www.ppan.ie which provides on-going information and commentary on public policy issues.
The network consists of experienced experts and researchers many of whom are former senior public servants. All have local, national, EU and international experience. They have been involved at the most senior levels in their respective policy areas in Ireland and Brussels. The policy areas include:
• Enterprise Strategy
• Trade Policy
• Competition and State Aid Policy
• Environment and Planning
• Local Government
• Transport and Infrastructure
• Economic Policy
• Regulatory Affairs and Business Regulation
• Public Sector Re-structuring and Reform
• Public Private Partnerships
• Energy, Climate Change and the Green Economy
• Strategic and Corporate Planning
• Human Resource Management and the Management of Change
• Public Procurement
Dr. Peter Brennan, a founding director of the network, said “The aims of the network are to advise private clients who want to influence Government, for example by way of policy and budget submissions and to work with the public sector on evidenced-based policy-making. I am particularly pleased that the network will be led by some of Ireland’s most reputable policy analysts, Ronan Lyons, Declan Kearney and Dr. Seán O’Riordáin, each of whom is a recognised leader in their own policy field”
